1. Agreement to terms

By accessing or using HomeLease ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. HomeLease connects verified property owners with verified buyers and renters for sale and rental transactions facilitated through our escrow, viewing, and agreement services.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding contract under Nigerian law. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and KYC verification.

3. Verification

HomeLease may require identity verification (KYC) for buyers and renters, and document verification for property owners. Verified badges indicate that submitted documents passed our review at the time of approval. Verification does not guarantee the condition of a property or the conduct of any user.

4. Listings and viewings

Owners are responsible for the accuracy of listing information. Generalized location data may be shown publicly; exact addresses may be disclosed only after a confirmed viewing unlock. Viewing credits, scheduling rules, and cancellation policies are described in the Platform and may be updated from time to time.

5. Escrow and payments

Rent and related fees for rental listings may be processed through HomeLease escrow partners. Funds are held according to the escrow workflow until release conditions are met or a dispute is resolved. Sale transactions may use Platform payment and agreement tools where available. HomeLease is not a bank; payment services are subject to partner terms and applicable regulations.

6. Agreements

Digital agreements generated or signed through HomeLease are binding between the parties who sign them. HomeLease may provide templates and records but is not a party to your lease or sale contract unless explicitly stated. You should review all terms before signing.

7. Owner subscriptions

Paid owner plans (Pro, Premium) are billed according to the pricing shown at purchase. Plan limits, features, and fees may change with notice. Refunds follow our subscription and payment policy unless required otherwise by law.

8. Prohibited conduct

You may not use HomeLease for fraud, harassment, money laundering, off-platform payment circumvention, false listings, or any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.

9. Disputes

Escrow and listing disputes may be submitted through the Platform. HomeLease may review evidence and facilitate resolution but does not guarantee a particular outcome. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer where applicable.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HomeLease and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to the fees you paid to HomeLease in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
